What's up all,

I'm looking to get into some serious drawing/sketching over the next couple months, but I have a real big question. What should I draw with?!?!? Up until now I basically use a black ink pen or a typical school pencil. I know alot of artists have their favorites and use varying pens and pencils. I'm just looking for a few good suggestions, like pens and pencils that stood the test of time. I tried to find blue pencils but couldn't find them anywhere, then I found a blue colored pencil at my house and tried to sketch with it but really wasn't feeling it. But anyway any and all suggestions or helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.
